TELLURIC WHISPER
This painting, imbued with mysticism and primal energy, draws its origin from a two-week expedition undertaken by the artist to Mount Roraima, one of the oldest geological formations on Earth.
Accompanied by a Pemón guide from the Gran Sabana in Venezuela, the artist developed a deep fascination for these singular mountains—both enigmatic and sacred. Their ascent, rising over 1,000 meters through lush jungle, beneath cascading waterfalls and drifting mist, became a sensory and spiritual journey. Long walks across the fog-covered plateau, with its irregular and almost otherworldly shapes, nourished an inner vision that later transformed into pictorial expression.
The tepui—referred to by the Indigenous Pemón people as the “house of the gods”—is a vast table-top mountain with sheer cliffs, suspended between sky and earth. Located at the crossroads of Venezuela, Brazil, and Guyana, Mount Roraima is composed of Precambrian sandstone, over one billion years old, shaped slowly by erosion.
FEAUTURED IMAGES
In this work, the artist seeks to capture this telluric breath: an ancient, almost primordial vibration where rock, water, and wind converse in a silent language. The painting becomes a suspended territory, a living memory of the Earth, inviting the viewer to wander between matter and mystery.
